Committed to cultivating and promoting a culture of innovation, Confiz recently hosted its CodeJam event, bringing 35 employees from across Confiz Pakistan, USA, and UAE to participate and share thought-provoking ideas.
The event provided a platform for participants to express their passion for technology and demonstrate their problem-solving skills and innovative solutions for commonly faced challenges. The competition attracted alums from top universities like FAST, GIKI, LSE, LUMS, and more.
Participants were tasked with creating functional prototypes and presenting Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) for their innovative ideas. A distinguished panel of judges evaluated the entries, considering their originality, feasibility, and potential impact.
The panel of judges included prominent industry figures, including Ahsan Saleem, Senior Vice President at Confiz, Hashim Ali, Chief Operating Officer at Confiz, and Dr. Zartash Afzal Uzmi, Partner and Founding Director at Confiz. Their vast expertise and deep understanding of the field made them a perfect fit to assess the ideas and offer valuable feedback.
Participants presented innovative solutions, including food recommendation applications, interview management systems, shuttle service trackers, and more. Following a rigorous evaluation process, Team Alpha emerged as the winner. They presented an augmented reality-based navigation application as their solution, specifically designed to assist individuals in navigating large organizations and hospitals.
Leading the winning team was Muhammad Aaraiz, a gold medalist from FAST, Lahore, and a Software Engineer at Confiz.

- Shamshir Ali, an alumnus of Bahauddin Zakariya University and Principal Software Engineer at Confiz.
- Salahuddin Rajput, an alumnus of Punjab University College of Information Technology and Software Engineer at Confiz.
- Waleed Babar, an alumnus of the University of Gujrat and Senior Software Engineer at Confiz.
- Rehan Sarwar, an alumnus of the University of Gujrat and a Principal Software Engineer at Confiz.
Claiming the runner-up position in the competition was Team Ms, with their innovative idea of utilizing Artificial Intelligence to assist coworkers in improving their posture.
The winners and the runner-up received exciting prizes worth PKR 325,000, including cash and gift baskets filled with tech gadgets like Sony headphones, JBL Bluetooth speakers, Realme power banks, and more. Dr. Zartash Afzal Uzmi, a respected board member at Confiz and Assistant Professor at LUMS University, presented the prizes to the deserving participants.
While speaking on the vision behind CodeJam, Aitezaz Sheikh, Vice President of Engineering at Confiz and a part of the organizing committee for CodeJam, said, “Our goal with CodeJam was to foster a culture of innovation and teamwork within our company and provide a platform for our employees to showcase their creative and technical skills.”
He further added, “We were thrilled to see many passionate individuals across different regions and departments come together and present some impressive ideas. It was a great success, and we look forward to organizing more events like this that will help us drive technological advancement and create a sense of community and collaboration within our organization.”
Confiz aims to continue investing in events like the CodeJam to reinforce thought leadership and foster innovation and collaboration among employees from diverse educational backgrounds.
